Introducing: Pendulum necklace

Definition: “A pendulum is a body suspended from a fixed support so that it swings freely back and forth under the influence of gravity”. A term used both in science and occultism, discovery by Galileo Galilei around 1602.

I wanted to create a minimalist pendulum, with a clean and simple design. Inspired by sketches and old photos of pendulums used in science. The idea was to make an understated and basic necklace, an everyday piece of jewelry that layeres well with other necklaces.

The pendulum itself are filed extensively from a massive square silver piece. The filing are done by hand to get the angle, size and point correct before completing the pendant and strung it on a fine silver chain.
